Dr. Farid Nikfar earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of British Columbia in 2008. Following graduation, he gained diverse clinical experience serving communities throughout Canada’s northern regions, including the Northwest Territories, Yukon, and Alberta.
In 2011, Dr. Nikfar established his roots in Port Alberni, where he quickly became known for his gentle approach and commitment to patient comfort. By 2017, he assumed leadership of the practice previously led by Dr. Roland Nystrom, continuing a legacy of exceptional dental care in the community.
Dr. Nikfar believes in creating a warm, welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable discussing their concerns and confident in their treatment decisions. He maintains a steadfast commitment to professional development, regularly participating in continuing education to stay current with emerging techniques and technologies in modern dentistry.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Nikfar enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, and finds relaxation in reading.

Holly, a lifelong resident of Port Alberni, graduated as a Certified Dental Assistant from Malaspina College in 1979. With decades of experience in various dental practices, she currently serves as our office manager and chairside assistant. Her warm personality and efficient management ensure smooth office operations, making patients feel comfortable. Outside work, Holly enjoys camping on Vancouver Island and spending time with loved ones.
Registered Hygienist
Catherine, originally from Chile, moved to Port Alberni in 1993 and began her dental career as a Certified Dental Assistant in 2000. She graduated as a Registered Hygienist from Camosun College in 2012. Outside the clinic, she enjoys hiking and exploring the beautiful outdoor spaces around Port Alberni.
Receptionist
Flora, born and raised in Port Alberni, returned to her hometown after two decades. She graduated from Camosun College in 1992 as a Certified Dental Assistant, bringing valuable knowledge to her front desk role. Flora enjoys spending time with family and friends while appreciating the natural beauty of Vancouver Island.

Having grown up on the mainland, Brianna moved to Vancouver Island in 2021 and made Port Alberni her home. It didn’t take long for her to embrace island living and the slower pace. Brianna joined Dr. Nikfar’s team in 2025 as a receptionist and is one of the first people, patients will meet. She loves getting to know our patients & helping them with all their dental needs. Outside of work, Brianna loves participating in local activities & events Port Alberni has to offer with her family.
